MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – UP Teach, with the help of the Superior Health Foundation will be holding a Pediatric Mental Health Summit for health care providers next month in Marquette.
The goal of the summit is to educate all health care providers on how to support kids mental health, especially as a primary care providers.
According to Dr. Francis Darr, a pediatrician in UP Teach, it’s important that health care providers are able to look at the whole picture when providing care.
“Mental health is health,” said Darr. “You know we have tended to, in the past, silo mental health and physical health away from each other, but all health care is important, there are many aspects to a wholistic view of health.”
The summit will be on June 21 at the Ramada Inn in Marquette.
