ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A disruption of water service is planned for parts of Escanaba on Tuesday.

The City of Escanaba Water Department will be conducting water main replacement work on May 14. The work will affect the areas listed below:

  • 900 South 17th Street
  • 400, 500, and 600 Blocks of South 18th Street
  • 800 and 900 Blocks of South 18th Street
  • 1002 and 1100 South 18th Street
  • 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, and 1100 Blocks of South 19th Street
  • 1200 South 19th Street
  • 1714, 1715, 1725, 1804, 1807, and 1808 5th Avenue South
  • 1800 Blocks of 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Avenues South
  • 1720 6th Avenue South
  • 1723 and 1901 7th Avenue South
  • 1711, 1713, and 1715 8th Avenue South
  • 1915 10th Avenue South

The Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience the work will create but says that there is no other means of conducting this work without shutting the water down. Once the water is restored, a boil advisory will be in effect until lab results prove the water is safe for consumption. If all goes as planned, notification for normal water usage should be provided by the end of the day 2 – 3 days after disruption.

Any residents with questions or concerns can contact the City of Escanaba Water Department at (906) 786-3291.
