MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Book lovers in the UP will soon have another spot in downtown Marquette, to enjoy their reading. Read My Lips will be a romance book-shop. Owners are currently in the process of renovating the old Gathered Earth store space for people to sit and enjoy reading.
The new store will focus on the romance genre of book reading, and the owner is planning on having lounging areas, grab-and-go coffees, and book merchandise in the hopes of reigniting the love of reading.
“You’ll have your sports romances, your forbidden romances. Kindle accessories, t-shirts, candles, anything that makes you feel cozy and wanna read a book, because people want books back in their hands as crazy as it sounds, ever since Covid the sales have just gone up,” commented Read My Lips Owner Nikki Odom.
They still have yet to decide on an opening day and are still working on the design phase of what the shop will look like.
