MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Northern Michigan University students are continuing their pro-Palestine encampment set up in front of Jamrich Hall on campus.
Students participating in the encampment said they want to represent non-violent protesting but will disrupt the campus at NMU.
Making noise and singing are the ways the students are furthering their goal of “disclosing, divesting, and denouncing” companies that protestors say invest in war manufacturing.
“Alphabet, Oshkosh, and Lockheed Martin, those are three companies that are heavily involved in war manufacturing over in Israel and Palestine, our request for NMU they’ve done a disclosing our request is that they divest in those companies and to publicly denounce Israel,” commented NMU Protestor Nick Jones.
Students said they would like to thank NMU PD and staff for protecting their protest. WZMQ 19 News will keep you updated if any further developments become present.
