MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette residents who are paying the “Solid Waste” fee on their monthly water bill can now dispose of their yard and other household waste at the seasonal compost site off Pioneer Rd. near M-553.

Any yard waste will be accepted, including brush but is limited to one pickup per day. Compost Drop-Off will be open on Tuesdays from 3 PM-7 PM, and Saturdays, from 9 AM-1 PM. The Household Rubbish Drop-off will be open Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 PM-7 PM.

“Pretty much everything accepted that there is, we can accept masonry products, whatever you can stack it’s just kind of bring in manageable amounts for us and you know you’re more than welcome to make multiple trips over the summer but we’re trying to avoid getting huge trailer loads,” commented Marquette City Public Works Scott Cambensy.

To be allowed to drop off, you’ll need your City of Marquette water bill, stating you pay the “Solid Waste” fee and a photo ID.
