MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – The Ore Dock is getting ready for its eleventh annual Angry Bear Beer Festival on Saturday.

But on Friday the Children’s Museum will be having its own Baby Bear Festival at the Ore Dock for the kids.

Baby Bear will feature music, face painting, balloon animals, kids are encouraged to dress up in their best bear costume.

Children’s Museum Education Coordinator Jim Edwards said it’s important to give kids an opportunity to play and celebrate.

“There’s an essential quality about play,” said Edwards, “about pretending, about extending things, about pushing the barriers to see what’s right and what’s wrong and that’s what kids naturally what to do, they want to play. They want us to say, that’s a good idea.”

The Baby Bear Festival will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and is free for anyone to enjoy.
