MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Two Manistique organizations are teaming up to help you brighten up your home this spring.
The Lake Effect Community Arts Center is hosting a floral arrangement class on Saturday, April 6. The owner of Flowers by Jodi will teach attendees how to select and place each flower to create a beautiful bouquet.
Lake Effect Community Arts Center Board member Katie Birdsley says the arrangements will make great centerpieces or gifts for friends and loved ones.
“Some things we don’t think of as art,” she said. “We look at our flower shops and we don’t realize they are taking composition and color and height and all these things that matter on an art level. It’s nice to be able to look behind the curtain, so to speak, and see what our florists are doing to create all the magic that they make happen.”
Registration is now open for the floral arrangement class, which will run from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The cost to attend is $45 for Lake Effect members and $50 for non-members. Click here to sign up.
