MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a number of Zillow listings for properties in Marquette County that are believed to be scams.
MCSO says scammers will list a property “for sale by owner” but don’t actually own the property.
MCSO says to pay attention to whether the property is listed below the suggested value, how recent the photos are, whether sellers are requesting cash or payment immediately, and to ask yourself if the listing seems too good to be true.
Anyone with information on a possible suspect is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 906-225-8441.
