PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, Mich, (WZMQ) – A fire was reported at Northwoods Apartments in Portage Township at 5:30 this morning, and first responders arrived to find the north side of the building engulfed.
No one was inside at the time, as all occupants of the building are students on spring break.
According to a press release from the Houghton County Sherrif’s Office, the fire is believed to have started in a mechanical room.
