MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Marquette popular local dancing competition is back for the 9th annual year. It’s the Dancing with Our Stars competition, raising money to benefit the UP Home Health and Hospice.
The organizers unveiled this year’s theme as “Barbie and Ken Edition” theme, and each team will have to pick a different style of dance. Cha Cha, DISCO, East Coast Swing, Fox Trot, Hip Hop, Motown, Tangon, and West Coast Swing.
Organizers had winners from last year’s competition at the launch party. Past competitors gave some advice to the new teams, who said even though they’re in it to win it, donating all the money towards the UP Hospice Foundation makes the bonding experience with everyone involved that much more enjoyable.
“She has it more than me…’I want to win’…’Well I just think it’s an important cause and I think that’s the main thing that we really should be focused on. The competitions good it’s gonna be a lot of fun but raising money for such a worthwhile cause is really important’,” commented competitor Johnny Cappoferri
