According to Downdetector.com, early Thursday morning outages were reported by AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and a number of other cellular carriers across the United States.
AT&T customers have reported issues with cell phones having no signal. Many have said that calls are not able to be made or received but texting while connected to WIFI appears to be working.
According to Apple, iPhone users are still able to make emergency calls if “SOS” or “SOS only” is seen in the status bar.
At this time the Marquette County, Negaunee Regional, Houghton County, and Delta County dispatch center’s have reported no issues with dispatching emergency services.
AT&T provided the following statement to WZMQ;
Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.
WZMQ will continue to update this story as more details become available.
