Delta County early voting begins Saturday at Wells Township Hall

WELLS, Mich. (WZMQ) – The primary election is quickly approaching on February 27. This Saturday, February 17, early voting begins at precincts throughout the state.

In Delta County, early voting will be held at the Wells Township Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Early voting continues through Sunday, February 25.

On Thursday, Delta County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki trained election workers on the equipment and procedures, like printing ballots on demand as voters come in. She also discussed requirements for Delta County residents planning to cast their vote before the 27th.

“They’ll need a photo ID, preferably,” Przewrocki said. “If they don’t have a photo ID, they will still be able to vote as long as they’re already registered. They can register up through the day of the election, but to vote early, they’ll have to register with their local clerk first. They’ll come in, we’ll print a ballot for you, you vote it, put it through the tabulator, and be on your way.”

Early voting was adopted as part of Proposal Two, passed in 2022. In addition to early voting and heading to the day of the election, voters also have the option to vote absentee.

“All of the townships and the two cities have a dropbox now,” said Przewrocki. “Any jurisdiction that you’re in will have a dropbox at the township or city hall.”

The Wells Township Hall is located at 6436 North 8th Street in Wells.
