NEGAUNEE, Mich, (WZMQ) – The National Weather Service said the current El Ninio system has caused the rollercoaster conditions.
Meteorologists say the recent bouts of warm weather is melting the snow, and the warm air above the cool ground is why we’re seeing the fog.
With the lack of wind over the next couple of days, the NWS reminds everyone to drive safely in foggy conditions.
“Make sure you have your low beam headlights on,” said NWS Forecaster Jonathan Voss, “and also make sure you’re allowing extra breaking distance between you and vehicles or objects ahead of you. Because your visibility is going to be lower and you’re going to need that extra breaking distance.”
The NWS expects the fog to clear up sometime late this weekend.
