LAC LA BELLE, Mich. (WZMQ) – It is finally time for Mount Bohemia in the Keweenaw to start up its lifts and welcome riders on the trails.
The mountain, voted the best ski resort in North America by USA Today, is set to officially open on Wednesday January 17th.
The resort features 95 different runs using 100% natural, ungroomed snow. Ski experts say the recent snowfall has the mountain ready to open, but the first few days will be more challenging as riders pack down the powder.
New this year are 2 saunas at the mountain’s Nordic Spa, which also features the upper peninsula’s largest outdoor hot tub.
