MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A long-standing club in Powell Township is putting dollars back into the community.
On behalf of the Community Foundation of Marquette County, The Huron Mountain Club will be distributing $45,800 in grant dollars to local nonprofits across the Powell Township area.
Some of the funds are heading towards organizations like Bay Cliff Health Camp, Big Bay Elementary, and the Peter White Public Library.
“It’s a huge commitment of time and effort that they’re putting into these causes that they believe in. The financial support is very much needed. You could be funding all sorts of things, but without the people committed to doing the work, we wouldn’t be seeing a difference,” commented the Community Foundation of Marquette County CEO Zosia Eppensteiner.
The Huron Mountain Club, set up in the late ’90s, has now distributed over a million dollars in total invested in the residents.
