POWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 64-year-old Big Bay man was in a single car rollover early in the morning on Sunday on Squaw Beach Road in Powell Township.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 12:08 am on Christmas Eve. The man was eastbound on Squaw Beach Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and landed on its’ side.
No other people or vehicles were involved with the crash.
The driver was taken by ambulance to UP Health System-Marquette for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Powell Township Fire and EMS, UP Health System EMS, and Marquette Detailing.
The crash remains under investigation.
