SKANDIA, Mich, (WZMQ) – Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Skandia is having a quilt and basket raffle on Saturday.
There will be a variety of prizes available including homemade quilts and decorations, holiday goodies, gift baskets, a lawn trimmer, and a snowblower.
All money raised from the raffle will go towards the construction of a new wheelchair ramp for their sanctuary.
Event Co-Organizer Christie Johnson said it’s important to take care of their aging congregation.
“Sometimes they’re very limited,” said Johnson. “Some people can’t walk, or they have a lot of arthritis in their hands and so this way they can be included. They’ll be able to get into our sanctuary once we have a ramp built.”
The raffle will begin at 9 a.m. with the final raffle drawing at 1 p.m.
Food and drinks will also be provided for those attending.
Tickets for the quilt and homemade raffle are $2 a ticket and $5 for three tickets.
For the basket raffle tickets will be $1 per ticket, $5 for six tickets and $10 for 13 tickets.
