MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On November 29th, around 6:50 AM, the City of Marquette Fire Department was dispatched to 427 E Crescent Street for a structure fire. When fire crews arrived, they found an apartment on the second floor of a three-story building full of smoke.
Fire crews contained the fire to the back bedroom, and searched all floors and evacuated the building. All units cleared the scene at around 7:59 AM without any further incidents.
The Marquette County Pigs-Heat Fund is helping the displaced tenants.
Marquette Township Fire, Chocolay Township Fire, Marquette City Police Dept., UPHS EMS, Marquette Board of Light and Power, and Semco Energy all assisted the Marquette City Fire Department on the scene.
