ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Escanaba resident is throwing their hat into the ring for a county election in May of 2024.
The recalls of Delta County Commissioners Bob Barron and David Moyle have both been confirmed for the spring election. On November 27, Myra Croasdell filed paperwork to run for Barron’s seat, District #3, on the Board of Commissioners.
“Delta County was not going the right way,” Croasdell said of the board. “They veered off the track too far. Now, it’s time to get Delta County and their residents back on track.”
Croasdell sits on several area boards, including the Menominee Delta Schoolcraft Community Action Agency Governing Board. She says her experience and dedication to residents in District 3 make her the right choice for voters.
“I’m a good candidate because I believe in Delta County,” Croasdell said. “I believe in the residents of Delta County. With being on the other boards, you don’t ever go in when you have a hidden agenda. You go in with an open mind; you go in with what you can do for the people.”
According to Delta County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki, Croasdell submitted an Affidavit of Identity and petitions with 16 signatures. The clerk’s office will be validating the signatures to ensure at least nine are valid.
Kelli Van Ginhoven is running for Commissioner Moyle’s seat on the board. Click here or here to read what Van Ginhoven has said about the recall effort and election.
The minimum amount of signatures required to get Commissioner Robert Petersen’s recall on the May ballot were verified last week. Przewrocki says Petersen has until December 4 to challenge any of the signatures.
