MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – The Marquette City Commission welcomed new commissioner Paul Schloegel who was newly elected by voters last Tuesday.
The City Commission also elected Sally Davis as mayor to replace Cody Mayer, who remains on the commission, and Jessica Hanely as mayor pro tem.
New Commissioner Schloegel expressed his excitement to work with the other members of The City Commission.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Mayor Davis, the Pro Tem and the rest of the group here,” said Schloegel.
Former Mayor Cody Mayer also offered his congratulations and support.
“I do want to congratulate our new mayor, and our new Mayor Pro Tem,” said Mayer “I wish you both the best of luck and if you need my support, I’m happy to be there for you.”
The City Commission tonight also approved the meeting schedule for the upcoming year and discussed filling an opening in the board of light and power.
