ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new business is bringing a touch of beauty to Downtown Escanaba.
Blading Boutique, which offers microblading, celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, October 26, with a ribbon cutting. Microblading is a service that fills in patchy or thin eyebrows with hyper-realistic tattoo strokes.
“It is a semi-permanent tattoo that lasts one to three years, depending on your skin type,” explained owner and artist Kylie Kalishek.
Kalishek added a personal touch to the boutique by decorating it with photos of her family’s history of aviation and wing walking.
“Back in the 1920s, my grandpa and his three sisters were big into aviation and barnstorming,” Kalishek said. “I am so excited to share their incredible history in this space.”
Kalishek is excited to join the business community on Ludington Street.
“I have met so many incredible people since I opened this business and the community support has been incredible,” she said. “I just have to thank everybody who has played a part in it.”
Kalishek says her goal is to help clients feel more confident with natural-looking microbladed brows.
“For people who over-plucked in the early 2000s or are just lacking in hair there, thinning eyebrows, I can help with that,” she said. “I hope everyone who walks in the door walks out with as much confidence as the wing walkers on the walls here.”
Blading Boutique provides free consultations for each customer to determine if they are a good fit for microblading.
