IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – In Dickinson County, Iron Mountain’s highly anticipated new 24-hour Kwik Trip gas station has finally opened its doors for business.
The grand opening of the brand-new gas station and car wash commenced bright and early this morning, with nearly a thousand friendly and excited faces served by 9 a.m. The excitement was palpable as the store manager, Tom Dekarske, shared his thoughts on the successful launch.
The Kwik Trip’s mission statement is as follows: “To serve our customers and community more effectively than anyone else by treating our customers, co-workers, and suppliers as we, personally, would like to be treated, and to make a difference in someone’s life”
Dekarske stands by that mission statement, and at the forefront of an engaging conversation on the excitement brought about by having an outstanding Kwik Trip right in our proud Iron Mountain neighborhood.
“Iron Mountain is a smaller town, and you know, I’ve met a lot of these people already prior to opening, and like I said, they’re excited we’re here, I’m excited we’re here, and our culture just fits well in this community.”
The doors swung open first thing at 5 a.m. CST, setting off a whirlwind of enthusiasm that swept through the town.
“We had a number of people waiting when we opened the doors at 5 a.m., this morning, we’re still really busy, a lot of people are excited that we’re here, we are really excited to be here,” added Dekarske, noting how the Kwik Trip prides itself on being a family-friendly business, that puts customer service at the top of its priority list.
“We interviewed a number of employees, and the co-workers that we brought on board I truly believe will help bring our culture to life,” Dekarske elaborated about the company’s mission.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony, as Kwik Trip continues its expansion into the Iron Mountain community. The ribbon cutting-ceremony will take place in the early morning on the day before opening day of deer season, November 14th at 11:00 am central time.
Kingsford’s own Kwik Trip is set to join the celebration in the middle of November. It’s a momentous occasion for the Iron Mountain area, marking the beginning of a new era for the city in convenience, improved grocery options, and community connection.
The new store is located at 1010 North Stephenson Avenue, right next to the dollar general. For its grand opening, the Kwik Trip is offering specials on car washes, pizzas, and a special on $1 Karuba Gold coffees any size hot or iced.
