FAITHORN, Mich. (WZMQ) – A toddler was found uninjured after wandering away from her home thanks to her family dogs.
Michigan State Police troopers in Iron Mountain were called out to the Faithorn area around 8 p.m. Wednesday night for a two-year-old girl who had walked away from her home with the family’s two dogs.
Search crews from Michigan and Wisconsin used drones, multiple police K9 units, search and rescue agencies, and local citizens to help find the girl.
Around midnight, a citizen on an ATV found the girl about three miles away from her home. She was asleep, using her smaller dog as a pillow while the bigger dog stayed nearby.
She was checked by medical personnel and was found to be in good health.
MSP says cooperation and coordination by various government and volunteer agencies, along with community efforts, contributed to a successful outcome. Police thank all involved in helping find the girl.
