MARQUETTE Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette Mountain is hosting their third annual Art on the Mountain.
Art on the Mountain is filled with activities that visitors can fill their day with, from art to music there’s something for everyone.
The main focus of this event is art. With more room for vendors this year, about 20 booths will be set up throughout the resort, featuring local artist.
“We have a large variety of mediums that are gonna be featured,” says Kaet Johnson, General Manager of Marquette Mountain Resort. “Wood, Jewelry, material, prints, water color, acrylic and oil paint, just an amazing variety of artists.”
The event will include free entry to Marquette Mountain’s specially designed disc golf course, which will be open for the entirety of Art on the mountain.
Other activities include Marquette Mountain Downhill Bike Park, and hiking or riding the ski lift up the hill for a scenic view of Marquette.
To participate in these events a fee will apply, the Downhill Bike Park cost $55 for adults, and $40 for ages 6-12, hiking the mountain cost $6, and riding the lift (single time) cost $15, all day pass cost $45.
Marquette Mountain’s Tbar will be open during the event, serving food, drinks, and live music.
Music on the Mountain will also be taking place at Art on the Mountain. This event gives local musicians the ability to gain exposure by offering free two hour time slots to anyone who wan to signs up.
Art on the mountain is held at Marquette Mountain Resort from 10am- 5pm, September 9-10th. No fee is required to get into this event.
