MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Friday night was the first night of the 19th annual Blues Fest down in Mattson Lower Harbor bringing world-class blues to the Marquette Community. A wide selection of food trucks, assorted arts and crafts booths, and the beer and wine tent helped keep the night rhythm going.
Festival merchandise is available as well and the bands will have their merch readily available. Organizers comment that this music festival always has a unique spin from the other music events around town by just playing the blues.
“Blues music is really about joy and what you do to make yourself feel better in a bad situation. One of the famous blues musicians said it’s the only art form where you can get the blues when your woman leaves ya but you can get the blues when she comes back the next day,” commented Mark Stonerock.
