IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – The athletes are excited about tomorrow’s fundraiser hosted at Bimbo’s Wine Press, as it is aiding the team in securing funds for brand-new jerseys. As Bimbo’s Wine Press readies itself to serve pizzas throughout the day tomorrow, the Iron Mountain varsity volleyball team is diligently preparing for their upcoming match against Ishpeming. The seniors emphasize that the new jerseys will mark a significant improvement, and following the match, the entire team plans to gather at Bimbos
Two seniors on the Varsity team are excited to see the new jerseys. Aylah Hoffman and Abby Pollock shared that only their coaches have seen the new jerseys so far. They say the head coach says they’re coming soon. “She’s kind of described them to us, but we have not seen them yet. But they’re a lot better because there was talk that our previous ones were illegal because the design was on the sleeves, and it can’t be on the sleeves. So we changed that up a little bit, so. Our whole team will be there. The whole team’s going, because we think it’s like a group effort thing, like we can’t just have a few people missing. We’re a team, we’re all about that team bond,” the two players shared.
The team is scheduled to compete on their home court tomorrow evening at 6 PM Central time. Meanwhile, the Iron Mountain Athletic Boosters Club is actively seeking volunteers to assist with concessions during various sporting events. Those interested in volunteering can find more information at:
