MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A fundraiser is coming up this weekend, with a 1 in 250 chance to win $5 thousand dollars in cash. The Mariucci Family Beacon House is hosting the “Reverse Draw Raffle” coming up this Sunday, at Blackrocks from 12 pm-3 pm. Each drawing before the last ticket is considered a “losing” ticket, but participants can then enter into a “rebound” raffle for 25 dollars.
All proceeds are going towards the Beacon’s “Fresh Food Fund”, helping to keep meals hot and ready for those staying at the Beacon House.
“When I first started fundraising for Beacon House 15 years ago I thought it was going to be hard I thought it would be difficult to do and it’s just so easy now it’s easy to just share the story with the people about the lives that we change we’re making em laugh we’re feeding them we’re making cancer patients gain weight,” explained Mariucci Family Beacon House CEO Mary Taverninidowling.
As of Wednesday morning, there were only 10 tickets left and each ticket purchase comes with 2 tokens for a Burger Bus lunch and a beverage from Blackrocks.
