KINGSFORD, Mich. (WZMQ) – In Dickinson County over the weekend, a remarkable event unfolded as Kingford High School seniors unveiled a novel approach to embrace their final year of high school.
Seniors congregated at the school’s football field around 5 a.m. on Sunday, and were greeted by a blush-colored horizon emerging over Kingsford High School. Approximately 40 students gathered near the centerline, huddled together under cozy blankets, as they witnessed the dawn sky. This unconventional display was intended to promote inclusivity, serving as both a celebration, and as a warm welcome to their culminating year at the school. The event was overseen by the school’s dedicated AP Chemistry teacher, who ensured its smooth execution.
With plans already in motion, the class of 2024 intends to conclude their school journey with a senior sunset event, set against the backdrop of their impending graduation day. The initiative, spearheaded by none other than the class president herself, Adelaide McRoberts, promises to remain etched in the memories of Kingsford High School’s graduating seniors for years to come.
