MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The first night of Harbor Fest launched off Thursday evening, bringing the community and newly moved-in wildcats to Mattson Lower Harbor Park. Sponsored by Marquette West Rotary, the Harbor Fest has raised over $700,000 in its 38 years in support of Marquette County non-profits.
The Marquette Symphony Orchestra was on the Main Stage Thursday evening. Throughout the weekend, some of the local band scenes will be showcased, with Rock of Love, a Poison Tribute Band, and on Saturday with the Detroit Rock City KISS Tribute Band.
Co-Chair of Harbor Fest Pam Christensen commented that her favorite part is seeing the amount of community that shows up in support of the UP. “I think the best thing about Harbor Fest is when you come down you see all sorts of people that you know maybe you haven’t seen them for a while and everybody’s having a great time,” continued Christensen.
