ELY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Ely Township Saturday evening.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 6:05 p.m. on Co. Rd. 581 near Co. Rd. CD.
A vehicle going south ran off the road and crashed into a guardrail, then re-entered the roadway and crashed into the guardrail again. The vehicle rolled over into a ditch on the west side of the road.
The driver from Ohio was unresponsive when first responders arrived. Life-saving measures were given, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
The sheriff’s department was assisted on scene by the Ishpeming City Police Department, Ishpeming Township Fire, MSP, UPHS- Bell EMS, and Antilla’s Towing.
