Precipitation dries up tonight, Thursday cool sunshine, then likely showers Friday

by Ariane Stassek
August 9, 2023
A A

While Thursday skies will be full of breezy sunshine, Lake Superior waves & currents are expected to be very dangerous (life-threatening) – especially for Alger & Marquette county shores.
Waves could be up to 4-feet!
Rip current / swim risk is moderate to high.
Please be smart: stay out of the water & keep away from break walls/piers.
Live to swim another day.

FASTCAST 8-9-23

Partly cloudy WEDNESDAY NIGHT with lows primarily in the 50°s.

THURSDAY mostly-all sunny, cooler highs 65° to 75°, & dangerous Lake Superior currents!
Waves could be up to 4-feet, so stay out of the water & away from break walls/piers; swim risk is moderate to high.
Breezy NW winds (up to 15 mph), with some gusty moments (up to 30 mph).

A fair amount of forecast options to help you plan when (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday) to get over to the Marquette County Fair off M-553 between Marquette & Gwinn.

Excellent temps for an epic bike ride Saturday during the Ore to Shore event.
