RAPID RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – This weekend, a Delta County auto show is celebrating its thirteenth year. Organizers are using the opportunity to raise money for a good cause.
On Saturday, August 5, the annual Rapid River Car & Motor Show will take place at the Masonville Township Park from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cars, trucks, and bikes of all kinds are welcome to enter the show.
Trophies will be awarded for categories like oldest vehicle, best rat rod or hot rod, and furthest traveled. Each trophy comes with a knife from Rapid River Knife Works.
Show volunteer David Shope is looking forward to bringing people together to enjoy the show and enjoy the park.
“It’s fun to see people get out,” he said. “We get people from all over coming, and it doesn’t cost anything to enter. We’ve got a beautiful park here, and we need to show it off.”
The Rapid River Car & Motor Show is free to attend, but donations will be accepted for six-year-old Mason Clark. Mason is a Delta County boy fighting a rare form of childhood cancer. Shope hopes the community will come out to support Mason and his family.
