MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A farm that started in North Carolina has made it to the UP, bringing some treats to the Marquette Farmers Market. #9 Farms coined its name from the 9 children the two owners have. They drive up every Saturday and Wednesday from Stephenson to Marquette for the Farmer’s markets.
Owners say they started with just Strawberry Jam and quickly realized with a family of 9, how much more creative they could be. “Well I had 9 children and with the 9 children you create things to save money and I would always go to the farms and create strawberries, created strawberry jam and here I am today,” said Co-Owner of #9 Farms Dawn Gallop.
Number 9 Farms also offers body products like homemade soaps and candles.
