Most people look at Marquette as a hockey town first and foremost, and rightfully so. But hockey is a winter sport, and as we know in the U.P. we get a full four-seasons here.
So what fills the void in the other months? When Alex Fatovic took over the Northern Michigan Wildcats Men’s Soccer Head Coaching job, he noticed there is a pretty good underlying soccer contingent around.
Now, he has set out to not only grow his program at NMU, but also the game of soccer and support for it through all ages in Marquette.
Of course the best way to grow support for anything is to start them early. The NMU Soccer programs will be hosting their “Wildcat Summer Soccer School” beginning July 17th for kids K through 12. You can get your campers signed up on the NMU Ticketing website.
