MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Thursday, Michigan Veterans had the chance to enjoy some golf at the Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti 26th annual charity golf outing at the Marquette Heritage Golf Course.
Hosted by D.J. Jacobetti, the golf outing on average annually brings about $10,000 to support the “quality of life” experiences for the veterans. Thursday’s outing brought over 30 veteran teams to the course. Organizers commented that even though rain was expected, the veterans always have a great time and enjoy the comradery with the community.
“We’ll see how long it takes, hopefully, the weather holds out but we’ll be out here a few hours, my experience in doing this for the last several years is it’s always a good time and the community really shows up for supporting our veterans,” commented Michigan Veteran Homes Director of Development Ryan Engle
