MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Eagle Mine’s free public tours will start June 15. Every Thursday, people can walk through the Eagle Mine and the Humboldt Mill, viewing a world-class nickel and copper mine.
The mine tours will start at 9 a.m. at the Eagle Mine Information Center in downtown Marquette, and the Mill tours will start at 10 a.m. at the mill site.
“You’ll see the haul trucks coming in dumping the ore into the storage facility. Then you can watch those rocks go through the whole process of crushing, grinding, flotation, into the final concentrate product where it’s loaded up into train cars and shipped out on its way,” said Eagle Mines’ Social Performance Advisor Meagen Morrison.
