NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is seeing new leadership. Long-running administrator Carol Fulsher is retiring from the role.
Bob Hendrickson, Director of the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce will be taking up the mantle. He says as the trail has been a big part of the community, and hopes with his background with the Non-motorized Workgroup for the state, he can keep the heritage and story that’s shown throughout the trail.
“There’s a lot of projects in the works ad Carol did such a great job on developing the interpretation and the accessibility and the longevity of this system and taking up that and really I don’t think there’s gotta be a lot of changes I think it’s just kind of carrying that legacy through,” said Incoming Heritage Recreation Administrator Bob Hendrickson.
“I raised it It’s time to let it go I’m very happy that Bob is going to be taking over the reigns. He’s unflappable and just customer service oriented which I really think is important for running a trail,” commented Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Administrator Carol Fulsher.
