POWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – This morning, Thursday, May 25th, at 6 :30 AM, The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Responded to a fatal single vehicle crash on county road 550 near Saux Head Lake Road in Powell Township.
The Driver, a 52 year-old male from Skandia Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is believed to have occurred around 5 AM, and was later discovered and reported by a passing driver who called 911 around 6:25 AM.
The vehicle, a 2009 Toyota Corolla, is believed to have been traveling north when it crossed into the southbound lane, traveling off the road and crashing into the ditch on the west side of the road.
The name of the driver is not set to be released at this time as the family is being notified.
