Escanaba church color run to raise money for Tri-County Safe Harbor

ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Escanaba church is hosting an event next weekend for a good cause.

Bethany Lutheran Church’s second-ever Color Your Faith Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, June 3. Along the route of the 5k run and one-mile walk, ten stations will launch powder at participants, coloring their white tee-shirts.

Funds raised will go to the Tri-County Safe Harbor, which helps victims of domestic and sexual violence.

“Tri-County does so much for people in need in our community,” said Brooke Prins, youth ministry leader at Bethany Lutheran Church. “Given that they’re our neighbor, they’re a really obvious fit for our church to support, and we want to give back to the community as much as we can.”

In 2021, Color Your Faith participants raised more than $1,200 for Tri-County Safe Harbor. Anyone in the community is invited to join the Color Your Faith Run/Walk and support the cause.

Registration will be open through the day of the event. However, to guarantee a shirt for the color toss, participants must sign up by Friday, May 26.
