MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new company is offering Yoopers of all ages the chance to get out on the water this summer and learn how to sail
The U.P. Sailing Company based in Marquette is making final preparations for their first season in operation.The business will offer private and group sailing lessons, as well as customized sailing trips.
Husband and Wife owners Brian Vanwieren and Kristen Cooper Vanwieren are both Coast Guard certified Captains.
“That joy that [sailing] brings to people, and a lot of confidence, it is life changing truly for a lot of people, for us that’s why we started the U.P. Sailing Company,” Kristen Vanwieren went on to say “to share that passion with people, and bring sailing to the Marquette Community, there is really nothing like it here.”
