MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – As the weather continues to get warmer, the parks around Marquette are beginning to open for the season
The parks and rec department says it’s important to follow the rules and regulations to ensure a safe and fun experience at public spaces. Some reminders are to obey leash laws in public spaces and to pick up trash.
Officials also want visitors to keep others in mind. “[It’s important to be] respectful of not only the parks but everyone else who uses them, we do have a lot of issues sometimes with unpermitted events,” remarked Marquettes assistant director of community services Andrew Mciver.
The parks and rec department says it will soon be opening public restrooms and facilities but are asking for patience as they work to do so.
