WAKEFIELD, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE 4/21/2023 12:48 p.m. – According to the Michigan State Police M-28 in Wakefield is now re-opened and ready for vehicle traffic.
Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) plans to close M-28 east of Wakefield in order to control flooding on the roadway.
It is expected to close Sunday at noon CST.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured via US-2 to M-64. The detour will be reversed for westbound traffic.
There is currently no estimate on when the roadway will reopen.
