LANSING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Here in The UP, following the indictment of former President Trump, we reached out to UP Representatives for comment.
Dave Prestin from the 108th house district in Michigan says he believes there are better uses of our time.
Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, ran for his position on the promise of Trump’s indictment. Representative Prestin says this indictment is just a way for DA Bragg to follow through, and that this weaponizes a legal office for political reasons which he says is a slippery slope.
“I don’t look at this as an indictment on Trump, I look at it as an indictment on the system and the way it’s being misused.” Prestin said, “There are way more pressing issues all over the country, in Michigan, in New York. That I think Prosecutors, District Attorneys, and Attorney General’s need to be concentrating on.”
WZMQ reached out to other UP legislators for comment, the representatives were unavailable to make a statement.
