MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – NMU students and community members had the chance to learn about gender, sexuality, and diversity today.
The gender and sexuality studies program at the college hosted a gender fair at the northern center this morning. Students made presentations and were able to present them to those who attended.
Local businesses and organizations also had booths set up to connect with students and community members. Organizers say the goal of the event is to spread a positive message to those in the LGBTQ+ community.
“We want everyone in the [LGBTQ+] community to just know they are welcome, they are loved, and we hold space for them here in Marquette, in our community and campus community,” remarked organizer Emma Van Ordesel.
