MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Spread goodness week at NMU was starting off with decorating cookies for the Jacobetti Veterans Center. At the University Center on March 13th, NMU’s Superior Edge and the Volunteer Center were decorating cookies and signing a thank you poster for the Jacobetti Veterans Center.
Throughout the week, students can participate in a number of events aimed at spreading kindness. “It’s a great way to spread kindness, we just got back from spring break gives us that final push for the end of the semester. It’s just a way to get the students more involved and to spread kindness throughout the campus,” said Superior Edge Volunteer Coordinator Jenna Williams.
On Tuesday, the university will be sending students to the Jacobetti Veterans Center, dropping off cookies and the poster, and spending the day with the residents. Throughout the next few days, Northern Michigan University’s kindness schedule is listed below:
Wednesday, March 15th: A free movie night for students at the Thomas Theatre with drinks and popcorn, showing Dreamworks’ “Shrek” from 8 pm-9:30 pm. Free popcorn, stickers in the Lodge on campus.
Thursday, March 16th: Open Skate will be at the Lakeview Arena from 7 pm-9 pm. The Animal-Assisted Therapy Wildpups will be at the Lydia Olson Library offering their paws of kindness from 4:30 pm – 6 pm.
Friday, March 17th: The Rubber Duck Hunt will be going on from 10 am to 2 pm in the residence hall lobbies. A performance by Hippo Campus w/ Lisa Heller and Student LPM at the Vandament Arena from 7 PM – 11 PM.
