SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Five people are facing a variety of charges after an investigation turned up crystal meth at two Schoolcraft County homes.
The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET), along with Michigan State Police and Manistique Public Safety, obtained search warrants to investigate two homes after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery and seizure of crystal methamphetamine.
During the traffic stop, detectives arrested the driver and obtained probable cause to get two search warrants at two homes.
At the search of the first home, two people were arrested for charges related to the distribution of meth. Detectives also found more crystal meth and evidence of drug distribution.
During the search at the second home, detectives found crystal meth, guns, and evidence of distribution.
Two people with outstanding warrants were also arrested near the scene of the second home.
In total, three people were arrested on drug-related charges, and two people were arrested for outstanding warrants.
The names of those arrested and any other additional information are not being released at this time.
UPSET was assisted by troopers from the MSP Manistique Outpost, MSP Gladstone Post, MSP Negaunee Post K-9 Unit, officers from Manistique Public Safety, and the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Office.
