The new state representative for The UPs 109th district is already making proposals in the new legislature. Representative Jenn Hill introduced a bill package during her first week in Lansing.
Hill is proposing to increase the earned income tax credit, repeal the pension tax, repeal The ‘Right to Work’ Law, restore the prevailing wage, expand the Elliot-Larsen civil rights act, and repeal the 1931 statute that criminalized abortion here in Michigan…
During the press conference, Representative Hill said “with a new house majority, dem leadership with the governor, and with the senate, I’m proud to say we’re fulfilling our promises to the people of Michigan.”
The bills now go to the proper house committees for consideration before moving to the house floor for a vote.
