WAUCEDAH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Three people are dead after a crash Sunday afternoon in Dickinson County.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office said it happened just after 3 p.m. on Foster City Rd. near Burgeois Farm Rd. in Waucedah Township.
The sheriff’s office said based on investigation, a 2013 Ford Taurus was traveling northbound on Foster City Rd. when the vehicle crossed the center line, hitting an oncoming 2006 Buick Rendezvous. The driver of the Rendevous tried to stop but could not avoid the collision.
The two occupants of the Taurus, a 52-year-old female driver and a 56-year-old male passenger, both from Felch, were pronounced dead. The driver of the Rendezvous, a 46-year-old male from Norway, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
A 39-year-old female passenger from Kingsford was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay for non-life-threatening injuries. A child was airlifted to Marshfield Hospital in Marshfield, WI in critical condition, and a second minor child was transported to Marshfield Dickinson Hospital in Iron Mountain for minor injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident however it remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police, Michigan DNR, Norway Fire, Town & Country, North Alert, Nordic Ambulance, and Integrity Ambulance.
