Marquette Artists Take The Stage at Camp Cannabis

by Sophia Murphy
September 29, 2022 - Updated on October 13, 2022

Camp cannabis, the UP’s first cannabis centered festival is happening now. alongside some mainstream bands performing on the main stage, local Michigan bands will be performing this weekend at the one of a kind music festival.

This week, double trouble entertainment has been working to set up the two stages for Marquette’s first ever camp cannabis. the music festival will be showcasing not just national talent, but the local gems of The UP. Bill Digneit co owns double trouble entertainment, he and the other camp cannabis contributors thought it was important to highlight local talent.

So, for the local bands, we actually wanted to make sure they were represented at this national act festival. there’s a lot of representation from some really awesome bands from the up region and we’re just so excited to have them here.

Bill Digneit

Kelsey Potes is the marketing director at firehouse, with all that went into planning firehouse wanted to make sure the local bands got their moment.

when we started organizing the festival it was really important to us that we dot not only some really big name acts that would draw a crowd but also to be able to spotlight all of our local musicians and bands and performers.

Kelsey Potes

So much went into preparing for this weekend’s events, and all those involved are excited to finally see it come to fruition.

Big props to the fire station for being able to put all this together, it’s a ton of work and it’s definitely been a community effort.

Josh Carlson

we’re really happy to be part of it and help educate people along with provide some quality music for the weekend.

five years ago at this time an event like this obviously could have never happened, it wasn’t even legal in the state of Michigan so there was a lot of work that had to be done to bring this event to life. there was a lot that we had to figure out so we worked with a lot of partners at the local and state government to make it come to life.

Kelsey Potes

the 3 day long festival is happening down in tourist park all weekend, the event is only for 21 year old’s and up, with tickets still on sale online.
