ONTONAGON, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Ontonagon resident is dead after a crash Thursday night.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 11:30 p.m. on Norwich Rd. A 36-year-old Ontonagon resident was driving north on Norwich Rd. just south of Domitrovich Rd. when the vehicle left the road and went nearly 400 feet into a ditch, hitting a tree.
The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital with serious injuries.
The passenger, 33-year-old Brennan Sharlow of Ontonagon, received fatal injuries in the crash.
The vehicle was totaled and removed by Lahti’s Towing.
The crash is under investigation. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.
